These new lures are designed to mimic the pilchard, which is one of the primary food sources for most large predatory fish. This lure is the first step away for Red Gill from there original sandeel designs, but still instantly recognisable by the classic Red Gill tail, which gives the lure its superb fish catching action.

These lures feature the same extra tough material found in all lures, as well as an extra strong internally weighted hook.

On a recent summer cod trip, the Pilchard MK II lures accounted for numerous cod to 20lb for the BFM crew. They can be dropped and retrieved like most lures, but once there is enough tide you can let these lures fish themselves by simply holding them off the sea bed.
